Blues, Jazz and Vintage Rock. From 6:30pm!

Shade Hadie is an emerging four piece Brisbane blues band inspired by 60s artists such as Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters, Canned Heat and Frank Zappa. With twin lead guitar, gravelly vocals, some crazy blues harmonica playing backed by drums, bass and auxiliary percussion like bongos, marimba and cow bells, they create their our own unique style of soulful vintage music. Come and see Shade Hadie play live and take a wild ride back to the 60s, when music was created from the heart and for the soul.

In his recent article for the Blues Association of South East Queensland ‘A local band to watch out for’ editor Barry Beattie said of Shade Hadie ”So your humble BASEQ editor stumbled upon a group of four very young musicians who left me impressed. It wasn’t their youth, it wasn’t the use of vintage high powered guitar amplifiers played at a very comfortable volume but just dripping with tone. It wasn’t really even the choice of material they were playing. It was the feel of that material. It was the musical communication between the members on stage. It was like that they didn’t just play materials that would have been appropriate coming from the 1960’s Blues Explosion in the U.K., it was like they understood it at an intimate level – got inside the music, past the notes and rhythms – and had been doing it for years. And, at the time, they weren’t even 20.”
